Evaluation of Structural Behavior and Fatigue Performance of a KR-Type Rail Clip

Rail clips are essential components of rail fastening systems that clamp the rails to sleepers. Fatigue damage has been recently reported in railway lines. However, there a lack research investigating this fatigue issue. The KR-type system developed and used some domestic railways. This study aimed at evaluating structural behavior performance clip. assembly test performed laboratory showed stresses induced after tightening, particularly stress concentration locations, exceeded yield stress, indicating clip could be vulnerable cracking when combined with range during repeated trainloads. finite element analysis results, which revealed good correlation experiments, were evaluate by adopting modified Goodman criteria. evaluation results indicated vertical displacement train operation 2 mm, potentially suffer from failure.
